Unlike academics, managing a business wing takes a whole different effort. The ways of
thinking should be sharp and calculative. A small scar is just what is needed for an
established firm to topple. Businessmen may not have to face this if they think the way
like our own Ratan Tata does.
Ratan Naval Tata was born in 1937 in Mumbai. Since his parents went separate ways
early, his grandmother was the one who raised him. Jamsedji Tata, his grandfather, was
the founder of the Tata group. Having a distressed youth was unsuitable for the young
man to move on with his goals. But he decided to go for it. Ratan went to Cornell
University to study architecture and structural engineering. He became a part of the Tata group in 1962. His job included working with Tata's steel division in Jamshedpur. Later, an opportunity to be the Director-in-charge of NELCO came in search of him. The man announced his arrival by taking the firm through the way of
success.
Years later, Tata's toil paid off as he became the chairman of Tata Industries. He did not
think back and made the company's stature even better by making Tata consultancy Services public that brought Tata Motors more attention. The man was honored with the Padma Bhushan award in the year of 2000. Apart from his business ventures, Tata is also known for some other remarkable gestures. He acted as a great helping hand to the victims of the Taj Hotel attack. The man visited their families and provided the needed support, especially by financial means. Some of the affluent people were generally criticized for not waking up during a crisis. But Ratan Tata had shown such a potential that generated second thoughts in people.
People who intend to take the risky voyage aiming for success in their business
schemes got to consider Tata as their role model. A minute error may throw their efforts
in vain. So, it would be wise to learn from the man who had tamed the beast. Public
support is also a huge factor which also we can see through the gestures of the
industrialist.
