Unable to handle the extreme level of insults and bullying by peers, Lim Joo Kyung enrolls in another school, taking the chance of her family's unstable financial situation, remaining witty, and hiding the news at home. In the new school, she is treated like a princess and the prettiest, as she changes her identity completely, hiding behind a load of make-up applied on her face that even her phone fails to unlock the face recognition. She makes friends and becomes popular on social media. But fate does not let her escape.. Caught with her bare, ugly face by two handsome classmates: one a long-lost childhood, comic book store friend Lee Suho, and other a family friend Han Seo Joon, who are foes at school, Joo Kyung fights for her survival at school to hide her real self, serving the arrogant boys like an elf who in the end begin to love her.

Misunderstood by her mother, threatened, and trashed by her bullies, Lim Joo Kyung finds life hard to live. The never-ending run to hide her face, entangled in a love triangle and betrayed by her best friend, the drama is filled with laughter, tears, heart fluttering high school romance, heart-wrenching, and second lead syndrome. In addition, it discusses problems faced by students and other social issues, making it compelling for viewers to binge-watch the show, and the social messages conveyed make the drama grab a position in a k-drama lover's drama list.
