Descendants of Sun : Friday K-Drama Review

by Sreehari Venkat

Living a life in the army is tough. You need to stay gritty and straightforward, or else there would be consequences. But there are also several glorious aspects in this form of life which

make people choose it. So YUNGBee today comes up with the K-drama Descendants of the Sun. It is an amusing military story woven around passion, sacrifice, life, commitments, romance, and ultimate devotion towards Mother Land.

The plot depicts the lives of dedicated, fun-loving military personnel who unexpectedly meets a strong- headed passionate doctor. They start to develop feelings for each other as

time goes by, but their relationship faces kickbacks due to conflicts in their respective professions. The love-hate chemistry that brews between the charismatic soldier and the smart doctor as they face difficult situations under strange circumstances gives an uplifting vibe to the viewers. But it is not just a gooey romantic drama. This show is more than that. There happen many crucial, disturbing, and fierce instances balanced with some heart-warming moments.

Song Joong-Ki, the lead actor of the show, projects his acting versatility and passion through his role, Yoo Shi-Jin, to the extent that he even got seriously injured during the shooting of a fight sequence. Matching the acting caliber of Song Joong- Ki is Song Hye-Kyo, the female lead actress, who portrays a strong-headed, confident, and successful young doctor. This drama has met with a few criticisms of being a bit unrealistic by the reviewers for its certain elements of cliches. But, this show continues to be a popular K-drama among youth and K-drama fans.

YUNGBee suggests you this drama if inspiring military tales are your cup of tea. Besides, it also contains exquisite romances. Only you need to show a slight amount of endurance to a smidge of unrealistic scenes.
