The CERN director Maximillian Kohler summons Langdon to decipher an ambigram of the word "Illuminati," inscribed on the body of a murdered physicist. Later, a female character named Vittoria accompanies Langdon to put an end to the rampage. In this very first book in the Robert Langdon series, the maestro Harvard symbologist makes his first appearance.


  • Inferno

Inferno came into the limelight in 2013. It is the fourth book in the Robert Langdon series. The story begins with Langdon waking up at a hospital with a hazy memory of the past 36 hours. He also spots a sealed object with a biohazard sign among his belongings. An assassin comes to kill him, and Langdon scrams out of there. The remaining moments constitute a fine thriller.


  • The Da Vinci Code

It is a worldwide bestseller that has got the best skill of the author. A renowned man is murdered in a museum in Paris. Police spot certain clues around the corpse which they could not decipher. Therefore, Robert Langdon is called to the scene. The circumstances take a sudden turn, as Langdon is later accused of the crime. He escapes with a cryptologist named Sophie Neveu, who accompanies him in the quest to find the actual truth. The book also analyses the religious history regarding the bloodline of Jesus Christ. It is a must-read among the Dan Brown works.
